Nearly 42 Million Americans Will Travel for Memorial Day Weekend

As the unofficial start of summer, many Americans will kick off their summer getaways this Memorial Day Week, May 26-28, in near record numbers.

According to AAA, more than 41.5 million Americans will travel, which is nearly 5 percent more than in 2017 and the most in more than 12 years. The majority of travelers will take to the roads – 36.6 million – while 1 million will travel by air and 1.8 million will travel via trains, buses and cruise ships.
