Everything you need to know about the Zartico Dashboard and how to make the most of your visitor economy data.
The Zartico Dashboard is a free, limited view tool that provides high-level county snapshots for tourism professionals. It is powered by Zartico and designed to give communities a real-time lens into their visitor economy. DMOs interested in deeper capabilities can contact Zartico directly to learn about full-feature options and discounts available for Tennessee DMOs.
The dashboard uses a proprietary model that combines two anonymous data sources: credit card spending data (sourced from Affinity) and geolocation data (sourced from Azira). Together, these inputs help characterize visitor behavior and spending patterns within a community.
The dashboard is designed to help communities understand three key things: what portion of local spending comes from visitors versus residents, how visitors move within the community, and which origin markets are sending the most impactful visitors.
This dashboard is especially helpful for communities that have limited data about where their visitors come from, or that need to demonstrate visitor presence and activity within their area.
No. This dashboard is meant to complement — not replace — the annual economic impact and visitation reports commissioned by the department. Think of it as a more real-time, directional tool to use alongside those official reports.
The data should be treated as directional rather than absolute. It is based on a sample of anonymized mobile devices, not a complete view of all devices in an area. It also only captures credit card transactions made within the geographic boundary, so cash purchases and online bookings (such as hotel or short-term rental reservations paid for via e-commerce) will not appear in the data.
If you have questions about the data or how to interpret it, please reach out to josh.gibson@tn.gov. Please also exercise caution when sharing information from these dashboards with individuals who are not tourism professionals.
