Tennessee Tourism Theme for Governor and First Lady Haslam’s 8th Annual Holiday Open House

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam and First Lady Crissy Haslam have opened the Tennessee Residence for the 8th annual Tennessee’s Home for the Holidays, the final holiday open house of the Haslam administration. The open house invites Tennesseans to tour the executive residence, which will be artfully decorated for the season.

This year’s holiday theme is “Tennessee Tourism,” with trees decorated to celebrate the record-breaking industry and the many businesses, attractions and destinations that bring millions of visitors to the state each year. In the home, the trees feature many of the beloved reasons that make Tennessee a premiere vacation destination, including culinary experiences, festivals and events, attractions and, of course, music. In Conservation Hall, the trees are decorated with ornaments created by students from schools across Tennessee who reflected on their own favorite activities and places to visit in their home state.

“Crissy and I are proud to showcase many of the incredible businesses, places and events that provide education, entertainment, hospitality and beauty to both visitors to our state and locals,” Governor Haslam said. “Thanks to the hard work and innovation of the Department of Tourist Development and many partners across the state, the tourism industry in Tennessee continues to see exceptional growth: breaking visitation records, exceeding economic impact numbers and bringing new jobs to Tennesseans.”

Tennessee’s Home for the Holidays will be held 10 a.m. to noon Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays now through Dec. 16. Tours are free and open to the public, but visitors must make an online reservation through the First Lady’s website at www.tn.gov/firstlady.
