Munich – August 24, 2022. The Sound of America is coming to Munich! The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development has appointed Lieb Management as the new agency for public and influencer relations as well as sales and marketing within the DACH market. The aim of the cooperation is to position the diverse holiday destination, which is known as the birthplace of country music, as a cultural as well as a pleasure, family and outdoor destination in the future. The aim is to increase the brand presence in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and to further expand cooperation with tour operators and travel agencies.
West-Tennessee: vom Old Man River und dem King
The west of the state is characterized by the sound of the Mississippi, which brings the southern flair to Tennessee. History buffs embark on a journey into the Civil War era, visiting the Civil War Museum in Shiloh or britton Lane Battlefield in Jackson sung by Johnny Cash and June Carter. Even in the second largest city of Memphis, visitors experience history up close. Here, the National Civil Rights Museum is located in the building of the Lorraine Motel, on whose balcony the life of Martin Luther King came to a tragic end. In terms of music history, travelers in Memphis discover the home of the blues, stroll through Graceland, the former estate of Elvis Presley, or turn night into day in the numerous bars of Beale Street, from which live music sounds every evening.
Central Tennessee: rock'n roll and diverse natural treasures
Surrounded by flat mountains and the deep valleys of the Cumberland Plateau and located directly on the Cumberland River, Nashville is the capital of Tennessee and a music stronghold for rock 'n roll and blues. Deep, jungle-like forests, hidden caves, mystical lakes and gigantic waterfalls – Eastern Tennessee offers a variety of varied natural spaces. Outdoor enthusiasts can let off steam in the picturesque Blue Ridge Mountains in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Young and old visitors start their exploration tour from Sevierville, Pidgeon Forge or Gatlinburg and hike the highest mountain in the country at 2,025 meters. Nature lovers can't help but be amazed on a road trip along the Cherohala Skyway. Music fans should definitely stop in Bristol, the birthplace of country music, where they can still listen to one of the first country recordings ever at The Birthplace of Country Music® Museum. A completely different sound, on the other hand, prevails on the NASCAR race track "Bristol Motor Speedway". Art lovers should not miss a stop in the city of Knoxville, which is considered a real insider tip for lovers with its lively art scene and versatile museum galleries. In addition, on the banks of the Tennessee River, the dreamy city of Chattanooga is waiting to be discovered with Lookout Mountain, the legendary carousel of Coolidge Park, as well as a spectacular downtown with world-class museums.
