TDTD highlighted the music, history, food and culture of West Tennessee during the recent West Tennessee Media FAM tour April 10-15 in Memphis and the surrounding area.
Partner areas visited included Memphis, Jackson, Brownsville, Union City and Tiptonville.
Writers embarked on a variety of excursions including tours of the National Civil Rights Museum, Elvis Presley’s Graceland and Discovery Park of America, kayaking along the Ghost Section of the Wolf River, biking across Big River Crossing, canoeing at Reelfoot Lake State Park, and learning music history at the Tina Turner Museum at Flagg Grove School. Travel writers represented an array of publications including CBS News Online, AAA Magazines, Group Tour Magazine, Westword, Backpacker and more.
Additionally, Cindy Dupree, PR director for TDTD, made a presentation to Connie Dyson and the National Civil Rights Museum that included a framed cover of the 2018 TN Vacation Guide serving as a tangible tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of his assassination was hosted at the Museum April 4.
TDTD will host the next media FAM April 30-May 4 in Chattanooga and Southeast Tennessee.
