Due to the success of the first #servingTN campaign, a second phase will launch June 4. The Governor’s Office launched the social media campaign in March, which focuses on humanizing the services of state government, showcasing the real relationships citizens build with Tennesseans who provide critical, public services. The campaign is a collaborative effort extending across state government.
TDTD chose three nominees for the second iteration of the campaign launching June 4, including Leah Ross, executive director of the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. She had a vision to resuscitate Bristol’s history, where the legendary 1927 Bristol Sessions were recorded. Ross’ tireless energy led to the expansion of Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion music festival, overseeing the development and opening of the Smithsonian-affiliated Birthplace of Country Music Museum, and the launch of BCM’s radio station, Radio Bristol, delivering their mission of music to audiences around the world. She is a shining example of what can be achieved through vision, creativity, perseverance, partnerships and strategic planning.
TDTD is proud to feature Ross’ story and two other nominees on the tn.gov/tourism page and Industry Facebook page with the hashtag #servingTN June 4-6. TDTD wants to continue to put a spotlight on tourism partners inspiring passion within their communities. If you have a nominee in mind, email their name, a brief paragraph on how and why they are a Real Tennessee Story, and photo to Jill.Kilgore@tn.gov.
