Nashville International Airport welcomed British Airways’ inaugural nonstop flights between Nashville and London’s Heathrow Airport Friday, May 4.
The inaugural inbound London-to-Nashville flight (BA 223) arrived at BNA at 5:35 p.m. at the newly opened Interim International Arrivals Building. The inaugural outbound Nashville-to-London flight (BA2 22) departed Nashville at 8:20 p.m.
Passengers on the inbound flight from London were welcomed to Nashville with live music, a commemorative gift bag with local Nashville favorites, and a special performance by the Fisk Jubilee Singers.
Nashville International Airport celebrated the outbound flight to London with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and remarks from Governor Bill Haslam, Nashville Mayor David Briley, and representatives from British Airways, BNA and the Nashville business community. The gate celebration for the departing flight included live music, refreshments, a performance by the Fisk Jubilee Singers, and a commemorative bag for passengers on the inaugural outbound flight.
