Josh Gibson joins TDTD where his primary role is to collect, analyze and disseminate tourism industry marketing-related data to advance the department's mission.
Josh brings 12 years of digital marketing experience across public, private and nonprofit sectors. His most recent experience comes from FedEx Services, where he served as the Notifications Product Manager and the Business Insights & Performance Analyst for Global Digital Marketing. He focused on identifying data-driven opportunities to improve package tracking experiences. He received a Bravo Zulu and a Rising Star Award for teamwork for his role in launching global Picture Proof of Delivery in August 2022.
Before FedEx, Josh served six years as the Digital Marketing Manager for Tennessee State Parks. He oversaw the digital marketing strategy, managed TNStateParks.com, launched the Tennessee State Parks mobile app, developed fundraising initiatives, and partnered with other team members to improve the online reservation system. As a result, Tennessee State Parks is recognized as one of the top four systems in the nation. Josh is proud to have served alongside the staff and rangers who make Tennessee’s outdoors free and accessible to all visitors. He has visited all 57 state parks and is excited to bring that experience and perspective to his role with the TDTD.
Josh holds an undergraduate degree in Communication Studies from Middle Tennessee State University and a Master’s in Professional Studies from Tennessee State University. He spent his formative years in Collierville, Tennessee and has resided in Middle Tennessee since 2007.
Josh has three daughters (6,5,1) and a wife who homeschools the girls and works part-time as a labor and delivery nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He loves rock climbing, pizza, history and taking his kids on outdoor adventures. He has visited nearly every county in Tennessee and looks forward to checking the remaining counties off the list in his new role with TDTD. Josh can be reached at email@example.com.
