What do you do for TDTD?
I am a Welcome Center Assistant at the I-26 Welcome Center in Erwin. It is such a beautiful property, and I am so proud to have people come through and visit us here to experience the breathtaking surroundings.
Why do you like working for TDTD?
I love introducing people to Tennessee and telling them about everything the state has to offer. One of my favorite parts of the job is hearing what people have done during the visit and what they are going to do. I am a self-proclaimed people person, so it is so much fun getting to connect with others and market our state.
What’s your background?
Before TDTD, I managed the food and nutrition department at a level 1 trauma center. I oversaw roughly 200 employees and ensured they complied with the healthcare center’s policies. I enjoyed getting to care for people through food. Previous experience includes food and beverage management and retail. I was born and raised in Northeast Tennessee.
What do you like to do on the weekends?
I have four kids I love very much, so much of my time is spent around them. They play sports and are involved is many different clubs. We love to volunteer at our church, animal shelters and cleaning up trash at our state parks on the weekend, as well as getting out and exploring all of the great places our state has to offer that I have the opportunity to promote each day at the Welcome Center. I also devote my personal time into professional development by attending hospitality classes. I love to get involved in the community and see how tourism is impacting the communities around us.
