Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and country superstar Brad Paisley launched “Tennessee on Me,” a nationwide campaign to promote tourism on July 4. “On me” offers 10,000 free airline vouchers with the purchase of a 2-night stay in Chattanooga, Knoxville, Memphis or Nashville at TennesseeOnMe.com.
Tennessee on Me was created to stimulate tourism growth in the markets with the greatest need. Tax shortfalls for hotels alone were still down over $7 million in March 2021. That decline is fully attributed to losses in Nashville, Memphis, Knoxville and Chattanooga. In comparison, outdoor destinations continue to see active or increased tourism.
The campaign is designed to support the entire state’s continued economic recovery by encouraging tourists to not just visit Tennessee, but stay for several days and explore local businesses and attractions beyond the four cities listed.. More than 60 hotels are participating in the campaign.
