The Civil War Trails will launch a new webpage feature Monday, Sept. 1. An interactive, GPS-based map will help visitors find each of the sites and the wealth of amenities available in communities.
Although the printed map-guides are popular, this new site will fill in details and educate guests who happen upon a Civil War Trails site. Besides navigational tools, this page will also link guests directly with the websites for the Civil War Trail sign sponsors.
If you are on the Civil War Trails, Tennessee partners are encouraged to promote the new page on Tuesday, Sept. 3 by posting on social media, tagging @civilwartrails #civilwartrails and #openairmuseum. Tailor your copy to highlight the number of signs in your community and shine a light on other activities.
Civil War Trails connects visitors with the battle campaigns and lesser-known sites of the Civil War. Signature signs and distinctive red bugle guide visitors as they follow in the footsteps of the generals, soldiers, citizens, and the enslaved.
If you have questions, contact Chris Brown, program administrator of Civil War Trails, at administrator@civilwartrails.org or Drew Gruber, executive director of Civil War Trails, at executivedirector@civilwartrails.org.
