TDTD has named Amanda Murphy as Director of Communications.
Most recently, she served as Sr. Director of Corporate Communications at CMT/Viacom Media Networks where she oversaw communication strategies for national campaigns including the launch of the series “Nashville” and “Sun Records” on CMT. Murphy has extensive experience in media relations, including large-scale events like the annual CMT Music Awards.
While not a Tennessee native, Murphy has lived here longer than any other state and considers Tennessee her home. She resided in border cities at both the East and West ends of the state, and will proudly wear orange—or black and gold—because it’s too hard to pick one when you’re not a native.
Murphy has more than 15 years of experience in PR, and is the past president of the Nashville Public Relations Society of America chapter. She was named a Rising Star by Women in Cable Telecommunications and is a recipient of PRSA Nashville’s Olympus Award for service to the chapter. Murphy also serves as the professional advisor for the student chapter at her alma mater, Middle Tennessee State University.
