The Mountains Are Calling: Journalists Visit Sevier County on Smoky Mountain Media FAM Tour

Thirteen national journalists traveled to Sevier County to experience the music, attractions, scenic beauty and cuisine found in Sevier County. The media FAM, facilitated by Geiger PR & Associates, was conducted as a way to help spread the word that Sevier County tourism is back and better than ever.

A variety of experiences were offered including a hard hat tour of the soon-to-open attraction, Anakeesta in Gatlinburg; mountain hikes, Cades Cove tour (with black bear sightings!)and whitewater rafting; Dixie Stampede and The Island in Pigeon Forge; Carver’s Applehouse Restaurant & Orchard in Cosby; and the exhibition “30: Celebrating Dolly in Bronze” in Sevierville, among others.

Publications represented included Global Traveler, Chicago Tribune, NPR, freelancers for National Geographic, Atlanta Journal Constitution and many more.
