Familiarization Tour

Familiarization tours, known as FAMs, are destination site visits provided for travel trade representatives such as tour operators, receptive operators, travel agents, and wholesalers from international and domestic markets. FAMs are an important part of educating the industry. Industry professionals who participate in FAMs become more familiar with the products/areas they are selling to their clients and are able to learn about and experience new attractions, routes and over-night options. The information they gain during FAM trips helps the industry professionals expand/update current tour offerings and build new tours to expand their business.

How do I get involved?

The Tennessee Department of Tourist Development works directly with the local DMOs in each community to establish accommodations, meals, activities and more, for FAMS.
